In The Rihanna Song Umbrella, Is She Singing About An Ex-boyfriend?
the way I understand the song, Rihanna is now famous and she’s singing to an ex-boyfriend (not famous) that they’ll always be friends no matter what happens… is that right?

I don’t think so.
She didn’t write the song, anyways. It was supposed to be given to Britney Spears, and then Mary J. Blige, so there probably isn’t really a personal story Rihanna can attach with the lyrics.
